Snapchat users can now try on and purchase Halloween costumes straight from the app

In Augmented Reality News

October 13, 2022 – Snap Inc. has launched a new feature for Halloween that allows Snapchat users to try-on and buy Halloween costumes straight from the app, without ever having to step foot in a store. The new feature of course also means that brands now have a new way in which to engage with customers and enhance their sales channels through the Snapchat platform.

To start, Snapchat users simply take a few full body photos in whatever they are wearing. Snap’s computer vision technology then applies a product image onto the user’s photo instantly, as if they were wearing the costume.

Furthermore, in order to reduce friction during the sales process for potential customers, once users have taken their Snap and shared it with friends, they are able to purchase items and check out without having to leave Snapchat.

Some of the many costume themes that users can now try on, share with their audiences, and purchase include: Disney, Squid Game, Stranger Things, Minecraft, Power Rangers, Transformers, Jurassic World, The Office, Chucky, Harry Potter, Ghostbusters, Cobra Kai, and more.

Users can discover the try-on Lenses that are featured on the public Snapchat profile of Disguise Costumes by using the search bar on Snapchat to search for ‘Disguise Costumes.’ Users can also search for costumes using specific brand names, like ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Harry Potter’, in Snapchat’s Lens Explorer, or unlock a specific Lens using a Snapcode.
