Magic Leap announces September 30 general availability date and pricing structure for Magic Leap 2

July 12, 2022 – Enterprise spatial computing company Magic Leap has today announced that commercial availability for its next generation enterprise augmented reality (AR) platform, Magic Leap 2, will begin on September 30, 2022. Julie Larson-Green, CTO of Magic Leap, provided the update onstage at Fortune Brainstorm Tech in Aspen, CO.

The company stated that Magic Leap 2 will be available in three editions:

Magic Leap 2 Base – Targets professionals and developers that want to access the Magic Leap 2 AR device for use in full commercial deployments and production environments. The device starts at an MSRP USD $3,299 and includes a 1-year limited warranty.

Magic Leap 2 Developer Pro – Provides access to developer tools, sample projects, enterprise-grade features, and monthly early releases for development and test purposes.  Magic Leap stated that this edition is recommended only for internal use in the development and testing of applications, and that use in full commercial deployments and production environments is not permitted. Magic Leap 2 Developer Pro will start at an MSRP of USD $4,099 and will include a 1-year limited warranty.

Magic Leap 2 Enterprise – This edition is targeted for environments that require flexible, large-scale IT deployments and enterprise features. Enterprise edition includes quarterly software releases that will be fully manageable via enterprise UEM/MDM solutions, according to Magic Leap. As with the Base option, use in fully commercial deployments and production environments is permitted. Magic Leap 2 Enterprise will start at an MSRP of USD $4,999 and comes with 2 years of access to enterprise features and updates, and includes an extended 2-year limited warranty.

Magic Leap also announced today that Insight, a Fortune 500 global IT provider, has been selected to be Magic Leap’s US reseller for Magic Leap 2 devices, accessories, and solutions.

The company stated that in addition to US availability, Magic Leap 2 is also expected to be available in Canada, the UK, EU (Germany, France, Italy Spain) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia starting September 30th, with Japan and Singapore availability expected before the end of the year.

  • Small and lightweight device built for enterprise use;
  • An open platform that enables enterprises and developers with flexibility, cloud autonomy, and data privacy;

  • Field of view (FoV) of up to 70° diagonal;
  • Dynamic dimming that enables Magic Leap 2 to be used more effectively in brightly lit settings with greater image solidity; and
