Samsung to bring interactive VR experiences to 2018 Olympic Winter Games

February 7, 2018 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., as a Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications and Computing Equipment category, is bringing interactive experiences to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang through its new Samsung Olympic Showcases.

Throughout the Olympic Winter Games, a total of nine Samsung Olympic Showcases, featuring a mix of cultural, technological and immersive fan experiences, will be in PyeongChang and Gangneung, including Olympic Parks and the Olympic Villages, the Main Press Center, and four at the Incheon International Airport. The Showcases, opening February 9th, will provide visitors with experiences incorporating Samsung’s history of technological innovation with interactive activities, powered by Samsung technology.

Visitors will be able to learn about the Samsung brand history and the company’s two decade long partnership history with the Olympic Games. They will also be able to experience winter sports such as snowboarding, skeleton, and alpine and cross-country skiing, as well as Samsung’s ‘Mission to Space VR: A Moon for All Mankind’ creation through virtual reality experiences powered by the Samsung Galaxy Note8.
