Vuzix and Librestream announce integrated hands-free thermal imaging Smart Glasses solution

In Augmented Reality News

March 13, 2020 – Vuzix Corporation and Librestream, an augmented reality enterprise solution provider, have announced an integrated hands-free thermal imaging smart glasses solution for frontline workers to monitor body temperatures from a distance.

The integrated thermal imaging solution for health monitoring combines the Vuzix M400 Smart Glasses with Librestream’s Onsight platform, including the ruggedized Cube industrial wearable camera, to bring hands-free collaboration and thermal imaging to nearly any environment.

The Onsight Cube pairs with the Vuzix M400 Smart Glasses to display the real-time thermal video feed directly on the heads-up display of the M400. Using the Onsight AR platform, frontline workers can also share these visuals with global medical experts who can remotely view and control the thermal output. These experts can adjust lighting, zoom, and capture HD video and thermal images, providing first responders and medical staff with critical real-time diagnostic information. Teams can also capture and securely store images and recordings or share in collaboration sessions.

“We are excited to work with the team at Vuzix to bring an innovative thermal imaging solution to frontline workers. The combination of Vuzix Smart Glasses and Onsight not only allows for hands-free operations but provides real-time thermal images and data to make time sensitive assessments from a safe distance,” shared Charlie Neagoy, VP Business Development at Librestream.

Paul Travers, President and Chief Executive Officer at Vuzix, said: “The Librestream Onsight Cube combined with the Vuzix M400 Smart Glasses is a powerful one-two punch that combines two cutting edge solutions to deliver digital content into the real world to help medical staff, border patrols and first responders”.
