May 28, 2025 – Flybits, a provider of data-powered personalization solutions for financial institutions, has announced XRCard, a spatial computing-enabled payment card designed to operate independently from mobile phones.
Developed within Flybits Labs, XRCard combines generative AI, augmented reality (AR), and physical card technology to support a more intuitive and immersive banking experience.
The XRCard integrates with Flybits’ modular personalization platform and OpenDome spatial interface, offering a hands-free, app-less financial interaction model. Designed for use with smart glasses, the device enables cardholders to engage with their financial data through real-time voice commands and spatial visualizations. Flybits stated that pilot programs are currently underway with select partners.
According to Flybits, key features of XRCard include:
- Natural voice interaction: Users can speak directly to the XRCard to access financial insights, with generative AI processing requests in real time. This interaction is designed specifically for smart glasses and does not require a mobile app.
- AR-based financial visualization: The system delivers low-latency, 3D representations of spending history and transaction data in AR, helping users better understand their financial behavior.
- Social bill splitting: Through connected glasses and XRCard’s AI, users can split bills with others by viewing the bill, with the system automating calculations and allocations.
- Contextual offers on demand: Rather than relying on push notifications, users can request personalized offers based on real-time context, powered by Flybits’ contextual computing capabilities.
According to Flybits Founder and CEO Dr. Hossein Rahnama, the XRCard reflects a broader industry trend toward AI-native, human-centric banking experiences. “The banking landscape is undergoing a significant shift, driven by a new generation of users who expect participatory digital experiences,” Rahnama stated.
“Flybits views it as our responsibility to guide partners by showcasing realistic AI solutions, with XRCard as a prime example of an intelligent, human-centric banking experience leveraging spatial computing to move beyond today’s mobile constraints.”
XRCard is part of a broader pipeline of technologies from Flybits Labs, which also includes projects focused on creating more responsible, explainable, and personalized financial ecosystems. The company noted that as its innovations such as XRCard mature, they are incorporated into the Flybits platform to help financial institutions remain competitive in an evolving digital landscape.
