Google adds Avengers: Endgame characters to AR Playground collection of Playmojis

April 15, 2019 – Google has announced that it has added a host of Marvel characters to its collection of ‘Playmoji’ for its Augmented Reality ‘Playground’ creative feature on Google Pixel smartphone cameras.

The company has teamed up with Marvel Studios to bring five new characters to the Playmoji collection in time for the upcoming release of Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Endgame,” which in theaters April 26. The characters include: War Machine, Thor, Black Widow, Rocket and Captain Marvel.

The heroes join an already existing lineup of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Nebula and Okoye, all available in AR on Playground. Google stated in a news release “Thanks to ARCore’s motion tracking, light estimation and ability to understand the real world, the Playmoji look and feel lifelike, and react to your facial expressions in real time.”

The characters are available today as an installable Playmoji pack on Google Pixel smartphones.
