In General XR News

November 27, 2025 – Chinese technology company Tencent has this week announced the official global launch of its Hunyuan 3D creation engine, an AI-powered platform designed to streamline 3D asset generation for creators and enterprises.

According to Tencent, the release aims to simplify the production of high-quality 3D models by enabling users to generate assets from text descriptions, images, or sketches, significantly reducing production time compared to traditional methods of asset creation.

Additionally, the Hunyuan 3D Model API is now available through Tencent Cloud, the company’s cloud computing business, and will allow global enterprises to integrate 3D generation capabilities into their workflows. Tencent stated that applications for the API include game development, e-commerce, film special effects, advertising, social media content, and 3D printing.

Users of Hunyuan 3D Global will receive 20 free generations per day, while enterprise users accessing the API via Tencent Cloud will receive 200 free credits for 3D asset generation.

Since its initial open-source release in November 2024, the Hunyuan 3D model has surpassed 3 million downloads on the community AI portal Hugging Face, according to Tencent. The Hunyuan 3D series has undergone several iterations, with the latest version, Hunyuan 3D 3.0, focused on high-quality object asset production. Specialized models, such as Hunyuan3D World, are designed to support the creation of large-scale interactive environments for gaming, virtual reality (VR), and digital content.

Tencent stated that over 150 enterprises in Mainland China have integrated the Hunyuan 3D Model through Tencent Cloud, including Unity China, Bambu Lab, and China’s largest AI content creation platform Liblib.
