Maradin Launches New Laser Display Module for XR Glasses

In General XR News

July 15, 2025 – Maradin Ltd., a developer of MEMS-based laser lighting solutions, has recently announced the launch of its new XR laser-based scanning (LBS) display platform for augmented and mixed reality applications. The company showcased the technology last month at Augmented World Expo (AWE).

Maradin stated that the platform delivers a 50-degree field of view (FoV), 720p resolution, and full-color projection in a compact form factor of less than 1.4 cubic centimeters. The system is designed to improve specifications and performance for XR glasses and is suitable for integration into both waveguide-based and direct retinal display architectures, according to the company.

Built around Maradin’s proprietary MEMS design, the platform supports features such as foveated displays and changeable FoV. The LBS module is intended for use in lightweight smart glasses and supports all-day wearability by offering low power consumption and a minimal footprint.

The company stated that its patented laser modulation scheme, along with its MEMS mirrors and controllers, supports a compact form factor and low power consumption. According to Maradin, the technology enables the simplification of design for glasses that can fit different head shapes and sizes, without compromising resolution or eye-box dimensions.

“Our new XR platform provides endless possibilities for OEMs to extend their brand value to new and loyal buyers alike, using content with unprecedented color and resolution to demonstrate market leadership,” said Matan Naftali, CEO of Maradin Ltd. “The new platform serves as a crucial building block that is ideally suited both for waveguide-based smart glasses design and for direct retinal display designs across the industry. LBS is a game changer for OEMs by allowing them to serve different markets and fashion bases using the same platform.”
