September 2, 2025 – Outsyders, a creative-tech collective focused on immersive content production, has today announced the completion of three major projects: the IMAX Blue Angels 3D conversion, Disney’s Lilo & Stitch 3D reimagining, and Asteroid, an 8K 3D high frame rate (HFR) VFX experience for Samsung/Google XR.
Outsyders’ founding team members bring together decades of experience in visual effects, immersive technology, and cinematic innovation, and have previously collaborated on large-scale studio projects. The company stated that it is now working to establish a scalable approach to immersive content.
The Blue Angels project tested Outsyders’ machine learning-based 3D conversion pipeline to transform a full IMAX documentary into 3D with an “exceptionally small crew.” Lilo & Stitch was the team’s first large-scale application, with most of the 2D film converted into 3D within eight weeks, according to the company.
With Asteroid, Outsyders delivered nearly ten minutes of 8K 3D HFR immersive VFX content for what the company stated is a “flagship Samsung/Google XR launch” – presumably the upcoming Project Moohan XR headset from the two tech giants.
“Coming out of stealth mode with projects like IMAX Blue Angels, Lilo & Stitch, and Doug Liman’s XR film Asteroid proves our approach works; small, highly skilled teams, empowered by advanced tools, can deliver world-class immersive experiences,” said Paul Becker, CEO and Co-Founder of Outsyders.

The company also partnered with RealD on the 3D reimagining of Lilo & Stitch. Released in May 2025, the live-action remake became the first Hollywood film of the year to surpass USD $1 billion in global box office revenue by July, outpacing the full theatrical run of the original 2002 animated release.
Outsyders stated that its “rapid, high-quality immersive treatment” and the scalability of its pipeline played a key role in helping Disney move forward with 3D, while RealD optimized the theatrical presentation for audiences worldwide.
“By working alongside innovative teams like Outsyders, we can elevate what audiences experience in cinemas,” said Elizabeth Frank, CEO of RealD. “Their ability to deliver premium 3D content quickly and at scale perfectly complements our mission to present it in the best possible way on the big screen.”
Outsyders’ stated that it is working to build immersive experiences for brands and studios, and that its immersive productions are compatible with Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest, and immersive venues. The team has credits on projects including Prehistoric Planet Immersive, Leave the World Behind, Ready Player One, Greyhound, Chappie, Zero Dark Thirty, and Man of Steel.
