May 31, 2021 – Zappar, a provider of a platform that allows for the creation of augmented reality (AR) experiences, has announced recently that it will be celebrating its ten-year anniversary with its tentpole event, ‘AR Pioneers’.
The company stated that the virtual event, which will take place over two afternoons from June 22-23, will celebrate the progression of augmented reality from its early days to its widespread use today, covering the key learnings of the past and how brands and businesses can best leverage AR and WebAR today. The event will tap into Zappar’s decade of experience working with brands and agencies around the world, while giving attendees exclusive access to new product releases, tech demos and fireside chats with industry leaders.
The conference will feature numerous industry professionals, and will include:
- Keynote announcements on the next steps of the company’s journey, announced first at the event;
- Key learnings based on the Zappar’s experience in the industry across key verticals;
- Product demos and build-along sessions;
- Guided talks on how to best use AR for clients;
- Fireside chats with industry experts;
- Networking opportunities for creators, producers and developers;
- Plus more to be announced before the event.

Zappar officially launched in March 2011, and later launched its ‘ZapWorks’ platform, in 2013. The platform provides creators and developers with the tools needed to create AR experiences without any coding experience and to date has nearly 100,000 users, according to the company. Most recently Zappar unveiled the all-new ZapBox, an affordable mixed reality kit for developers to build and deploy 6DoF experiences. The company has worked for brands such as Nestle, Rovio and 7-Eleven, executing integrated campaigns for web and app-based AR for them.
