October 1, 2025 – PAULEY, a UK-based technology consultancy specializing in extended reality (XR) solutions for defence and related sectors, has this week announced a two-year collaboration agreement with BAE Systems to advance the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and XR technologies in military training.
Under the agreement, PAULEY and BAE Systems will work together to integrate immersive technology into training programs designed for military personnel. The collaboration aims to support the development of skills required to operate and maintain a range of military assets, including frontline aircraft and uncrewed drones, as well as to prepare forces for live operations.
“We are proud to be working alongside BAE Systems to help ensure the military forces of the future are ready for their mission in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world,” said Philip Pauley, founder and CEO of PAULEY. “Future military strategies like the UK’s Strategic Defence Review place technologies such as AI and XR at the heart of their future requirements. The expertise of companies like PAULEY combined with the wealth of knowledge and experience of BAE Systems can harness the potential of these exciting technologies.”
According to PAULEY, the partnership builds on previous joint efforts between the two companies, particularly in support of BAE Systems’ Project OdySSEy, a synthetic training environment that enables military forces to train collectively in a virtual world using real-world mission software and tactics.
Lucy Walton, Head of Training for BAE Systems’ Air sector, added: “Technology is advancing faster than ever and by combining BAE Systems’ deep defence knowledge with the agility and innovation of SMEs like PAULEY, we are able to deliver cutting-edge training solutions for our customers and support the growth of UK industry.”
