October 7, 2025 – MediView XR, Inc., a medtech company specializing in augmented reality (AR) surgical navigation and imaging solutions, has announced that it has closed a USD $24 million Series A funding round. The round was led by GE HealthCare, with participation from Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, Edge Ventures (the investment arm of Emplify Health), and JobsOhio Growth Capital Fund.
MediView has developed an FDA-cleared surgical navigation platform that enables clinicians to visualize 3D anatomy through a patient’s skin during medical procedures. The system integrates 3D patient data and live medical imaging, combining CT scans and ultrasound to provide real-time enhanced visualization and procedural guidance. The technology is designed to support minimally invasive procedures by offering clinicians a more intuitive and interactive way to plan and perform interventions.
The platform’s AR-powered “X-ray vision” overlays 3D anatomical data directly onto the patient, allowing practitioners to see organs, tissue, vasculature, and target anatomy such as tumors. MediView stated that this approach aims to reduce the cognitive burden of interpreting traditional 2D imaging, improve workflow efficiency, and maintain precision during complex interventions. The system also supports remote collaboration, enabling clinicians to share visualization and guidance tools with colleagues.
“Our mission is to simplify, democratize, and inform medical procedures by giving clinicians intuitive, real-time 3D visualization and guidance tools to aid in their clinical decision-making,” said Mina Fahim, MediView CEO. “We are redefining how to understand and navigate the relationship between interventional tools and target anatomy, making less invasive procedures more predictable and accessible.”
With the new funding, MediView stated that it plans to:
- Grow the clinical and commercial adoption of its solutions;
- Expand industry partnerships with medical imaging, therapeutic devices, and enabling technology collaborators toward broader adoption;
- Advance clinical validation and regulatory approvals; and
- Grow its operational capacity to meet increasing demand.
The company added that it will also continue to develop its AR surgical visualization and navigation ecosystem, with a focus on broadening utility across multiple clinical specialties.
