June 30, 2025Vuzix Corporation, a supplier of smart glasses and augmented reality (AR) technologies, has recently announced a collaboration with Sphere Technology Holdings to bring Sphere’s spatial computing platform to the Vuzix M400 and M4000 AR smart glasses.

Sphere’s platform combines mixed reality (MR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to support hands-free workflows, contextual overlays, and real-time collaboration for frontline workers, allowing them to engage with virtual content overlaid in real-world settings. The system enables interaction through voice and gesture recognition, supports real-world occlusion, and allows integration with enterprise systems such as PLM, ERP, CAD, and IoT platforms.

According to Sphere, its platform is suited to industry applications that require high levels of precision, collaboration, and context-aware computing.

The collaboration will see Sphere’s quality assurance and inspection solution deployed on Vuzix’s M-Series smart glasses, which are designed for rugged enterprise use. According to the companies, the integration aims to support sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, and defense by improving operational efficiency and situational awareness on the job.

“With Sphere now accessible on Vuzix’ rugged, lightweight, hands-free devices, businesses can leverage powerful tools such as Microsoft Teams integration, workflow automation, and content management,” said Sven Brunner, Co-founder and CEO of Sphere.

“By combining Sphere’s AI-driven mixed reality technology with the durability and portability of Vuzix smart glasses, the two companies are addressing critical challenges in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, and defense. This collaboration is designed to help businesses improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance worker safety, even in the most demanding environments.”

Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix, added: “Vuzix M-Series smart glasses continue to strengthen their position as a leading solution across multiple enterprise verticals, and the integration of Sphere’s platform further enhances their capabilities and value.”
