September 17, 2025 – Vizrt, a provider of live production technology for broadcast and sports, has recently announced the release of Viz Arena 6, the latest version of its augmented reality (AR) graphics and virtual advertising solution for live sports production.

Viz Arena 6 incorporates artificial intelligence to streamline the integration of AR graphics and virtual ads into live broadcasts. The new release features AI-driven calibration, which enables AR graphics and virtual advertisements to remain accurately positioned on the field regardless of camera movement. According to the company, this enhancement allows graphics to be deployed up to ten times faster than previous versions, while maintaining precision.

Viz Arena 6 also features the Sports Intelligent Keyer, an AI-based tool that uses ambient learning to distinguish between foreground and background elements with minimal manual input. This aims to simplify the process of keying and masking, reducing the technical complexity for operators.

Vizrt stated that its Sports Intelligent AI Keyer is optimized for greenfield sports like American football, soccer, rugby, Australian football (Aussie Rules), as well as motosports.

Viz Arena 6 is designed to support broadcasters and sports producers seeking to deliver data-driven visualizations and sponsor-specific virtual advertising during live events. According to Vizrt, the platform is intended to help productions scale high-quality AR graphics without increasing operational costs or complexity, and can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud. Through its image-based approach, the solution also eliminates the need for specialized mechanical tracking hardware.

“With this release, we’re expanding on the real purpose of AI in production technology: making the process more effective and accessible. Want better creativity and efficiency? AI-powered calibration and keying speed up the process. In sports, the action never slows, and productions need technology that can keep up,” said Edouard Griveaud, Senior Product Manager, Sports and AI, at Vizrt.

Viz Arena 6 is available now and supports a range of production workflows, including cloud-based deployments via Vizrt’s Viz Now automated deployment tool. The platform is compatible with existing broadcast infrastructure and is designed to integrate with major live data providers.
