December 31, 2023 – DPVR, a Shanghai-based provider of virtual reality (VR) hardware and software solutions, has announced that its DPVR E4 VR headset was featured as part of the debut of Raw Thrills’ new “Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR” arcade solution at the recent IAAPA Amusement Industry Expo in Orlando, Florida.

The Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR experience consists of an unattended VR motion arcade attraction that offers head-to-head scoring for players. The arcade is unattended, meaning that it is available for play without the need for staff presence. DPVR noted that other features of the arcade experience include:

  • Thrill-D NXT motion platform for a heightened sense of realism;
  • Patented force-feedback blasters for intensifying the gaming experience;
  • Wind and vibration effects add a tactile dimension to gameplay;
  • 6-channel Earthshaker audio that envelops players in a dynamic soundscape;
  • Massive 2X65” GigaScreen video displays for an immersive visual spectacle;
  • DPVR E4 headset, known for its lighter build, crisp visuals, and customizable, secure fit.

As noted, the visuals of the Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR experience are powered by DPVR’s E4 headset, which offers wearers a 120Hz refresh rate and 4K resolution for a smooth gaming experience with no screen door effect, according to DPVR. The headset’s lightweight design and easy adjustability provide enhanced comfort during extended gameplay sessions. DPVR also noted that the device’s detachable cable helps to simplify the installation and maintenance procedure for arcade operators.

“For Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR, we set out to make the finest cinematic VR action game ever created,” said Eugene Jarvis, Raw Thrills CEO. “The DPVR E4 VR headsets bring Godzilla to life with superior UHD image quality, refresh rate, and player comfort. Truly a stunning performance!”

“Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR is set to amplify visitor engagement for family entertainment centers and amusement parks, unlocking additional revenue opportunities for museums, airports, Airbnbs, and more,” said Derek Liu, VP of DPVR. “We’re excited to contribute to this amazing arcade experience with the addition of our E4 PC VR headset.”
