August 1, 2025 – Burnley Football Club has this week announced a virtual reality (VR) matchday broadcast in partnership with Rezzil, a provider of VR sports training technology. The initiative will offer fans the opportunity to watch the club’s pre-season friendly match against Lazio in virtual reality via the Premier League Player app on Meta Quest headsets.
As part of Burnley FC’s ongoing partnership with Rezzil, the club will deliver an immersive experience that will enable users to view the match from a virtual seat inside Turf Moor (the club’s home stadium), with panoramic views of the pitch, real-time visuals including player kits and club branding, and live commentary. The single-user VR environment is designed to offer focused, uninterrupted viewing.

Our mission is to provide the best experiences to fans, and by entering into the world of virtual reality, they can get closer to the game than ever before.”
Rezzil’s VR technology is used by elite athletes and clubs to support training and performance, and the company is also an official partner of the Premier League. This latest collaboration with Burnley FC will see the technology applied to a fan-facing experience, marking a further step in the club’s fan engagement and digital innovation efforts as it explores emerging technologies aimed at enhancing supporter experiences.
