June 3, 2025 – Vrgineers, a provider of next-generation virtual and mixed reality (VR/MR) pilot training systems, has recently announced that it has been selected to be a part of an industrial cooperation project for the Czech Republic, in relation to the country’s purchase of Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Lightning II aircraft.
The announcement follows Vrgineers’ initial selection in 2024 to support the Czech Republic’s F-35 pilot training efforts through the development of unclassified next-generation simulators.
Vrgineers develops and manufactures TAA-compliant VR and MR headsets, including the XTAL 3 series and Somnium VR1, as well as simulators for pilot and defense training. Its headset lineup offers high-immersion performance, while its simulators range from the portable to fully customizable solutions for flight, racing, and land force applications.
As part of the Czech Republic’s Industrial Cooperation Agreement (ICA) with Lockheed Martin, Vrgineers, together with 10 other participating companies and universities, will receive funding to develop and manufacture different parts, systems, and equipment that will support Czech industry and military technological advancement as the Czech Air Force transitions to fifth-generation fighter aircraft.
Vrgineers stated that its collaboration with Lockheed Martin began years ago when Lockheed Martin was one of the first companies in the defense industry to test Vrgineers’ next-generation virtual and mixed reality headsets for professional pilot training. The company added that its technologies have since been integrated with Lockheed Martin’s simulation software.
