In August 29th, 2019 – NextVR, broadcaster of live events in virtual reality, has today announced that it is bringing its portfolio of sports and entertainment content to Oculus Quest. The NextVR application launched on the Oculus Store for the Oculus Quest headset today at 10am Pacific Standard Time.
NextVR’s new PAVE technology will also make its debut on Oculus Quest. PAVE enables new features like enhanced in-experience graphic overlays (e.g. stats, instant replays) and forthcoming multi-user interactions (e.g. multi-user game trivia during timeouts).
“NextVR is pairing our newest rendering technology with Oculus Quest to provide an outstanding fan experience.” said David Cole, NextVR Co-Founder & CEO, “We’re launching with a collection of experiences that best demonstrate the capabilities of our technology including a show this September 10th hosted by Pete Davidson recorded live at Gotham Comedy Club in New York City.”
Exclusively for Oculus Quest, NextVR is adding a ‘Best on Quest’ channel featuring a curated group of new and optimized experiences for fans. Among the enhanced titles are – NBA Finals Game Six Highlights with unique access to the Toronto Raptors locker room celebration, NHRA Drag Racing, Day to Night Timelapse and select concerts.
Oculus Quest is the latest platform added to NextVRs software distribution. Universally available to the world’s VR audience, NextVR first launched on Oculus Gear VR in 2015 and has steadily increased its offering to include PlayStation VR, Google Daydream, Windows Mixed Reality, Oculus Go and Oculus Rift, Viveport and Steam.
