In Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality News
April 20, 2023 – SenseGlove, a provider of haptic gloves for virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), has recently announced that it has raised EUR €3.25 million in a Series A funding round led by Lumaux, a venture capital firm that invests in innovative technology companies.
According to SenseGlove, the funding will be used to accelerate the company’s growth and innovation, with a focus on advancing the haptics technology for its current SenseGlove Nova gloves. The company will also look to develop new hand haptic products. In addition to new innovations, SenseGlove is also aiming to use the funding to increase its global presence, as well to open an office in the U.S. in order to better serve its growing North American customer base.
“We are thrilled to have Lumaux as our partner in this exciting new phase of our growth,” said Frank Goovaerts, CEO of SenseGlove. “This investment will allow us to continue to innovate and accelerate the development of hand haptics technology, as well as strengthen our position as a leader in haptic technology for virtual and augmented reality.”
SenseGlove’s haptic gloves allow users to interact more naturally in VR and train muscle memory by providing the feeling of size, stiffness and impacts of virtual objects. SenseGlove has been used by a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, and education. The company’s technology has been praised for its ease of use and scalability: both versions of SenseGlove products (the DK1 and the Nova) have been implemented by over 500 companies including Volkswagen, P&G and the Royal Dutch Army.
Commenting on the investment, Tom Krieckaert, fund manager at Lumaux, stated: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with SenseGlove. Their ground-breaking technology and talented and diverse team align perfectly with our investment criteria. We are confident that this partnership will yield significant value for everyone involved. We look forward to supporting SenseGlove as they continue to revolutionize the virtual and augmented reality landscape.”
Previously SenseGlove raised funding from various international investors, including Forward. One and Value Creation Capital. The company’s total funding raised to date is about EUR €5.5 million. SenseGlove also noted that after this most recent Series A funding round, Lumaux will now join the SenseGlove advisory board.
