RP1 Launches Metaverse Browser for the Spatial Internet

In General XR News

June 10, 2025RP1, a provider of spatial computing software and infrastructure, has launched what it describes as “the world’s first Metaverse Browser” with its newly unveiled 3D browser built for the emerging spatial internet.

Designed to support persistent, real-time 3D content, the platform enables developers and businesses to deploy spatial software on their own infrastructure while remaining discoverable across devices without requiring app installations.

According to the RP1, its 3D browser aims to provide an open alternative to existing proprietary XR platforms and other “walled garden” 3D platforms. The company stated that its architecture enables the entire global population to connect in real time in a single unsharded environment (compared to current platforms that are limited to around 40 users per server) with full spatial audio and 6DOF support.

“No single company will own the infrastructure of the metaverse — it must be open,” said Sean Mann, Co-Founder and CEO of RP1. “Current browsers like Chrome and Safari were not designed for immersive, real-time 3D content and services for AR glasses. RP1’s 3D Browser is built for a world of real-time, volumetric, spatial experiences.”

Key features of RP1’s Metaverse Browser include:

  • Scalability: A single-instance architecture designed to support global real-time connectivity.

  • Unlimited Map: A 1:1 scale digital twin of Earth, the solar system, and beyond “for frictionless discovery and navigation of augmented and virtual spatial content.”

  • Real-time API: Allows third-party services, such as AI, payments, games, and businesses (e.g. stores, hotels) to integrate across AR and VR.

  • Decentralized Hosting: Enables businesses to operate their own XR environments without relying on proprietary platforms.

“The browser has the potential to remove friction in XR and bring the XR industry together and enable 3rd-party companies without the fear of being inside a walled garden system,” added Dean Abramson, Chief Architect, RP1.

RP1 is showcasing its platform at AWE USA 2025 this week from booth #528. For more details click here.
