July 24, 2025 – The Sandbox, a web3-enabled metaverse gaming platform that allows users to build, share, and monetize virtual experiences, has recently announced a collaboration with Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group to bring two of its live productions into immersive digital formats.
Known for its large-scale theatrical productions and global touring shows, Cirque du Soleil will headline The Sandbox’s upcoming Alpha Season 6, offering interactive gameplay experiences inspired by the company’s theatrical style.
The collaboration will allow players to explore two interactive “Experiences” within The Sandbox, based on Cirque du Soleil’s Luzia and another yet-to-be-revealed production. These experiences aim to capture the visual and emotional impact of Cirque’s live shows, integrating story elements and gameplay mechanics unique to The Sandbox’s platform.
As part of the launch, limited-edition digital collectibles and avatars will be made available for use in-game. The Sandbox will also release Cirque-branded assets for its creator community, enabling users to incorporate Cirque-inspired elements into user-generated content.
“We’ve explored digital storytelling before, but this collaboration with The Sandbox opens up new creative avenues,” said Noah Lemieux Bernier, Vice President, Digital and Customer Experience at Cirque du Soleil. “It enables us to bring the awe and artistry of our performances into immersive virtual spaces… in a format that’s interactive, social, and playful.”

Details of the collaboration were shared during a keynote at NFT.NYC last month, where a preview of the Cirque experience and a live performance were showcased, along with details of additional content set to roll out.
