September 15, 2026 – ENGO, a developer of augmented reality (AR) sports eyewear, has today announced the engo3 Cyclist, a pair of smart glasses designed for road and gravel cyclists.

Powered by ActiveLook technology, the engo3 Cyclist is a cycling version of the company’s engo3 heads-up display (HUD) glasses, which place training data in the wearer’s field of view so that the rider does not have to look down at a bike computer. According to ENGO, the glasses carry over 40 data points displayed directly in the field of view, together with cycling-specific widgets covering power zone tracking and overtaking vehicle alerts.

The dedicated display covers power zone, heart rate zone and estimated watts. Power zones are shown in real time using the same color-coding (red, yellow, green) found on professional cyclists’ dashboards, the company stated, with indicators covering zones 1 to 7. Data screens are customizable through the companion app, and a double-tap control switches between screens mid-ride. The glasses also sync in real time with structured workouts on Garmin devices.

According to ENGO, the vast majority of roads used by cyclists do not have a dedicated cycle lane. For vehicles approaching from behind, the glasses integrate with Garmin-compatible bike radars, including Garmin’s Varia range, with alerts for distance and speed of approaching vehicles displayed in the rider’s field of view. As soon as a vehicle approaches, the alert appears in context in the HUD, and the faster the vehicle is moving, the sooner the display appears.

“Cycling and running are very different experiences. Cyclists ride in groups, navigate traffic, and sustain efforts that last for hours. The engo3 Cyclist was designed with this specific activity in mind, prioritising a non-negotiable factor: safety. Having radar data in your field of view is literally like having eyes in the back of your head, it allows you to optimise your performance safely and without interruption,” said Éric Marcellin-Dibon, co-founder of ENGO.

The cycling model measures 140mm wide by 60mm high, against 137mm by 58mm for ENGO’s running glasses. According to ENGO, the wider geometry is modeled on cycling standards and optimized for aerodynamics, giving full wind protection and stability whilst riding. The temples are designed to fit comfortably under a cycling helmet, and both they and the nose pads are adjustable.

The glasses carry an IP55 resistance rating covering sweat, rain and road spray, and have a battery life that runs to over 20 hours, according to the company. Compatibility covers Garmin watches, along with a range of Garmin Edge devices. The radar integration runs over Bluetooth 5.4.

The engo3 Cyclist is available from the ENGO website, priced at EUR €349.95 / USD $399.95 / GBP £299.95 for the standard version and €399.95 / $449.95 / £349.95 for the photochromic version.

The glasses are available in all the colors of the engo3 range: Stride, in dark crystal green; Brilliant White; Matte Black; and “Kenya”, with the photochromic version offered in a white frame. Each version has high-definition panoramic lenses that are impact-resistant and optimized for ambient light. The photochromic lenses (categories 0 to 3) adapt automatically to changing light levels.
