Rokid launches Indiegogo campaign for its ‘Rokid Air’ tethered Augmented Reality glasses for multimedia viewing

September 2, 2021 – Rokid, a provider of augmented and mixed reality (AR/MR) glasses, has today announced that it will continue presales of its ‘Rokid Air’ voice controlled AR glasses with the launch of a campaign on the Indiegogo platform, in order to give more interested users the chance to receive early bird access to purchase the device, along with discounts and incentives.

Rokid’s Air AR glasses are lightweight and portable and allow users to experience a 120” virtual screen for an immersive multimedia experience whilst using apps, games, and movies. The launch of the Indiegogo campaign follows on from the conclusion of a successful initial product launch of Rokid Air on Kickstarter, in which Rokid received nearly USD $700,000 in pledges from 1,700 backers.

Established in 2014, Rokid states that its global team specializes in the research and product development of augmented reality, artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. The company’s consumer-focused augmented and mixed reality solutions combine voice and vision AI technologies to create smart assistant-ready devices. The company has also noted that it hopes to be one of the “leading AR innovators in the industry, with an aim of bringing AR to the masses with advanced features, portability and useful applications for entertainment, work, and daily life.”

The Rokid Air AR Glasses come with an advanced AI voice recognition system & voice command capabilities. Using an HD directional speaker and noise-canceling microphone, users can simply speak voice commands to manage apps and control playback of multimedia, something that the company states creates a combination of big-screen personal cinema and virtual assistant for a hands-free AR experience.

Rokid added that the new Air glasses, which can also be operated using gesture control functionality through a user’s smartphone, are suited for travel and long viewing sessions for movies and games. Furthermore, the Rokid Air glasses don’t require charging – instead, the glasses are powered by the device that they are tethered to, and are compatible with virtually any mobile device, gaming console, laptop or tablet, according to the company. Finally, Rokid Air can be used by prescription glasses-wearers and feature focus adjustment knobs for nearsighted users to achieve clear focus for gaming, multimedia, apps and movies.

To pre-order the Rokid Air AR glasses, visit the Indiegogo campaign for a range of tiered presale perk options with special pricing. For more information on Rokid and its augmented and mixed reality solutions, please visit the company’s website.
