AWE announces ‘Vision Workshop’ and anticipates highest ever concentration of Vision Pro devices at its June event

In General XR News

April 1, 2024 – Augmented World Expo (AWE), a provider of worldwide XR events, has recently announced that it will be hosting a full day workshop for Apple Vision Pro at its 15th anniversary AWE USA event this year. The ‘AWE Vision Workshop’ will take place at the Long Beach Convention Center on June 17, 2024, immediately before the three-day AWE conference from June 18-20.

The workshop will be sponsored by Unity, a leading platform of tools for creators to build and grow real-time games, apps, and XR experiences across multiple platforms. According to AWE, Unity will showcase and demo how its platform works for spatial computing, enabling a wide range of experiences, from games and entertainment to industrial use cases such as training for Apple Vision Pro. The event itself is not affiliated with Apple in any way however.

The workshop will be hosted by Raven Zachary and Dom Sagolla, co-founders of VisionDevCamp, and will feature sessions led by experts who have built some of the first visionOS consumer and enterprise apps.

“Apple Vision Pro not only sets a new high bar for spatial computing, but also promises to provide a lucrative ecosystem for developers hungry for revenue. So, we’ve assembled the very best instructors to teach anyone how to build for the Apple Vision Pro and harness those opportunities,” explained Ori Inbar, co-founder of AWE.

AWE stated that beyond the workshop itself, dozens of exhibitors will be showcasing their XR solutions for Apple Vision Pro throughout the three day AWE USA 2024 event. With several Vision Pro units on site, including those of attendees, the company anticipates that AWE USA 2024 could well be the gathering point for the highest concentration of Apple Vision Pro devices ever in a single public location since the device’s launch earlier this year.

In addition to its Vision Workshop announcement, AWE also stated that this year’s Auggie Awards are now accepting submissions. The Auggie Awards are AWE’s long-standing AR and VR awards competition. The competition has added four new categories this year, including “Best Climate Change Solution”, “Best Content Creator(s)”,”Best Education & Training Solution” and “Best Web3 Implementation.” Nominations for the Auggie Awards close on April 23, 2024.

AWE USA 2024 will take place in Long Beach, California from June 18-20, 2024. Auganix readers can receive a 20% discount on ticket prices by using the code “24AUGANIXD” (no quotation marks). The Vision Workshop can be added to a ticket purchase for USD $99.
