
March 25, 2021 – UK water company Anglian Water Services Ltd. has recently announced that it has awarded Edg VR Ltd. a software contract for the supply of a learning experience platform, which involves the creation and running of bespoke training workshops delivered using Virtual Reality (VR) technology.
The contract price was not disclosed by Anglian Water, however, the original tender documentation listed an estimated total value of GBP £815,000. In total there were 9 applicants who bid on the contract.
Edg VR offers a VR training and education system that includes:
- A portable networked solution for up to 35 simultaneous users;
- Live scoring, assessments and analytics;
- Bespoke training packages; and
- 360 degree photos, videos, CGI features and interactive platforms.
The company states that it has delivered its VR solutions to over 100,000 users worldwide. Edg VR also has a track record of working with Tier 1 contractors and utilities providers in the UK. For example, last year the company worked with UK-based infrastructure services and engineering company Amey to develop a safety training program for its utilities employees based on a fully-interactive virtual reality platform.
