November 28, 2022 – Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT), on behalf of the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (MSE ICS), has recently gone to tender for a new contract that will see the UK-based healthcare organization introduce immersive virtual reality (VR) simulation to its health and social care training.

The aim of the Service is to provide a platform for the development and access of locally created VR simulation training to NHS health and social care staff working in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System. The organization is aiming to achieve this by awarding the contract to one or more organizations to deliver the following:

  • An online platform to build and host VR simulation training; and
  • Training, guidance and support in the creation of VR simulation training scenarios and modules.

Other than the above requirements, the contract documents do not go into detail as to the exact nature of the type of content that would be required for the VR simulation and training experiences.

The estimated value of the contract (excluding VAT) is GBP £150,000, with the project expected to last for 12 months. The deadline for companies to submit their bids is 12:00 pm local time (GMT) on December 22, 2022.
