Zappar announces partnership with AiBUY to bring the e-commerce checkout process to Augmented Reality experiences

June 22, 2021 – Zappar, a provider of an augmented reality (AR) platform and creative studio, has today announced a new technology partnership with AiBUY, a provider of a shoppable media technology platform for e-commerce. AiBUY‘s proprietary overlay technology combined with Zappar’s AR experience offering will enable Zappar integrations with e-commerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Shopify, and payment solutions like Stripe, Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Together, AiBUY and Zappar will be able to bring the checkout process into the AR experience, with no external linking required to complete the purchase, according to Zappar. This will allow companies using the platform to capitalise on the purchase intent of consumers when it’s at its highest point – when they are browsing products. 

Zappar added that as a result, the partnership marries the success rate that AR experiences have when converting browsing to real sales, with the retail expertise of AiBUY, at a time when retailers are experimenting with experiential stores, extending their footprints away from brick and mortar locations.

The announcement was made during the first day of Zappar’s AR Pioneers virtual event, which is taking place from June 22-23, and covering how brands and businesses can best leverage AR and WebAR today.
